Taču ar to viss nebeidzās.
England’s Under-15s were involved in a controversial incident at the U-15 World Cup & Festival, which saw their opponents refuse to face a last-minute penalty. With the score at 2-2 and the match in the 41st minute, England forward Emmanuel Famokun was brought down by a Bolivia player, with the foul appearing to occur outside the left edge of the penalty area. However, the referee pointed to the spot, sparking a furious reaction from Bolivia’s players and coaches, who repeatedly shouted “it’s out” in both Spanish and English. A Bolivia coach also ran onto the pitch and pointed to the area where he believed the foul had taken place and was carded by the referee, along with several staff members. The protests meant that by the time Famokun stepped up to take the penalty, more than two and a half minutes had elapsed. Rather than gather on the edge of the box, Bolivia’s outfield players opted to stand near the touchline by their dugout, while the goalkeeper stood with his hands on his hips by the right post in protest, refusing to attempt to save the spot-kick. Famokun rolled the penalty into the centre of the net and the referee immediately blew the half-time whistle. Famokun was mobbed by his team-mates in celebration while Bolivia players sarcastically applauded the official. 📝 @samjoseph_17 https://t.co/sb2GRSnT8K — The Athletic | Football (@TheAthleticFC) October 30, 2026
